Learning to Hate: An Anti-Hate Comic Project

On February 1, from 1:00-2:30 p.m., and in association with the SOMEONE Project, the Drawing Room (10253 97th Street, Edmonton AB) proudly presents "Learning to Hate: An Anti-Hate Comic Project".
Culminating a year long research project undertaken by 10 Graduate researchers from the University of Alberta's Faculty of Education analyzing the ways in which youth encounter hate in their daily lives, this event will highlight and allow participants to engage with 12 original comics designed for classroom use as catalysts for opening discussions pertaining to hate and hate speech.
In addition to unveiling the comics, the event will feature short research talks from Vivek Venkatesh, Jessie Beier, Cathryn van Kessel, Jason Wallin, and a poetry reading by Edmonton's 5th Poet Laureate, Mary Pinkoski.
We hope to see you there.
